Listed below are some frequently asked questions that we have been asked by clients.  We hope this will help you to better understand some of our terms.  Remember there is never a dumb question.  If we use a term you are not familiar with, stop us and we will fully explain that term to you.  We want you to be fully comfortable with your Minuteman experience.

Q:  What does it mean to unlock or open homes?

A:  You may have locked your keys in your house and need someone to let you in or you may be in your house and locked inside.  Minuteman will be able to provide all forms of gaining entry into your home.

Q:  What does re-key mean?

A:  Rekeying may be done when a lock owner is concerned about an unauthorized person may have keys to the lock.  This service will save money replacing a complete lock.

Q:  What does it mean to duplicate a key?

A:  A new key will be made from an existing key.

Q:  What does emergency lockouts mean?

A:  Immediate response from a service vehicle to open the locked device.

Q:  What is a key control system?

A:  A key control system uses a lock box with electronic audit trail to track individual access to controlled keys.  For individual user access control in commercial applications.

Q:  What is an automatic door control?

A:  Electro-mechanical door opener/closer for handicap or commercial access.

Q:  If I leave my keys in my car or loose them, can my doors be opened?

A:  Yes, Minuteman can unlock doors with your car running or if you have lost your keys and need keys generated.

Q:  Can a key stuck in my ignition be removed?

A:  In most cases keys can be removed without damaging the ignition.  There are times when a new ignition will need to be installed.  This is situation dependent.

Q:  I have a safe and I have lost the combination and key, will I have to get a new safe?

A:  No, Minuteman will unlock safes with combinations or with keys.
